Creepy Crawly

So the mystery is on. Down in the basement a couple of days ago we had little parts of wood falling from the ceiling. Bryan went down and said he thought we may have rodents of some kind. It looked like they had made a nest but he wasnt sure. He cleaned the whole thing up but never found any animals. Today I noticed the bread loaf was torn open at the end and two pieces of bread had been half eaten. I called our landlords and they said that a family of squirrels had once been living where Bryan had cleaned up. The previous renters had caught them, taken them five miles away, and released them. I went on a mad hunt today and I moved and cleaned under the stove, fridge, all the cupboards, etc. I found no poop of any kind and no rodents (thank the Lord...you would have heard me scream a mile away) All the food in the pantry has not been touched and it is pretty easy to get to. Our landlords are getting a pest control dude to come out and take a look. We havent heard any animals in the walls (that is how the previous owners knew they had squirrels), the dogs have not been acting strange, I can find no evidence of rodents besides my bread and the ceiling. The whole thing gives me the creepy crawlies and I want what ever it may be out of my house!
