Im getting asked this question a lot lately. I also get lots of texts saying "I love you!" I appreciate all of them.
We have told the kids. We kept it very simple and light hearted. They only had a few questions and comments. Parker asked if it was cancer so we told them it was. We made sure to let them know once I had surgery it would be gone though. Lilah declared she did not want to see me with a drain tube coming out of my neck or she would pass out! Thats my girl, Just like me. I think with me handling it so well they are doing the same. Life keeps moving and we are moving along with it. They will be with my sisters while I have surgery and for the weekend following. My dad is also coming into town so they will be on cloud 9. The saturday after surgery I was suppose to run in the mud run so Parker will be taking my place. He is very excited about that. He is going to kick some major booty. And I will still get my free T-shirt :)
Bryan is doing better. I would say he took it the hardest out of the five of us. I cant even imagine if the situation was flipped. I would be freaking out too. I know it is hard for him to just wait. He wont be happy till surgery is done and they clear me of everything. The nice thing is Im having surgery at the hospital he works at. I know I will get amazing care and he will be right there the whole time. He is not doing my surgery, he would be too stressed, but he will hopefully be the first person I see when I open my eyes.
My friend Rainy is setting up a meal train for us. It is such a huge blessing for us! Im very grateful for the amazing friends I have.
Im doing great! Im feel super tired all the time but hey who wouldnt with 3 kids and a new puppy.
Hey Terra- You've all been in my thoughts and prayers. Keep up the positive attitude. My neighbor went through this a couple of years ago and she is doing great. You will too. Love and hugs!
